Venues

TAORMINA: Sept 2010. The jewel of Sicily, combines of the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean & an hilltop ancient town. Take in Mt Etna. Of course great Sicilian food & wine abounds (Successfully run in 2007).

CORTINA D’AMPEZZO: Annual Event (Jan 2011 - 2015) Site for the 1956 Winter Olympics and now a World Cup Ski venue. The closeness of the Austrian border creates a German-Italian flavour. There is plenty for non-skiers to do including sleigh rides, travelling to the mountain peaks by cable car and the wonderful Italian cuisine and shopping. (2011 will be the 15th successive year this conference has run, the 1st one being in 1997)

MATTERHORN: (Cervinia, Italy and Zermatt, Switzerland) (April 2011) Cervinia and Zermatt straddle the MATTERHORN,  this conference is held in spring but there is nothing spring-like about the snow as the highest lifted point is over 3,800 metres. This interconnected resort has a wonderful Italian, Germanic and French flavour. Also heaps for non-skiers to do.  (Successfully held in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007 & 2008)

VENICE: A truly unique city, with St Mark’s square, the Rialto & the Peggy Guggenheim gallery. Explore the intricate canals; take in a gondola ride or a concert & generally window shop for the exquisite art, glass, lighting & Carnevale masks. Every turn in Venice reveals a wonderful & intricate vista of waterscape & architecture. (Successfully run in 2000 - 2002, 2004, 2005 & 2007)

PORT DOUGLAS: One of the most beautiful areas of Australia on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef.  Spend a day or two chilling out on the soft white sands of Four Mile Beach, enjoy delicious alfresco dining at one of the towns excellent restaurants and browse through the fashionable boutiques. (Successfully run in 2010)

POSITANO: On the Amalfi Coast south of Naples. The conference venue is on the water’s edge enabling you to experience the stupendous clear blue waters of the Mediterranean. Magnificent hotel with private beach.  Day trips to Pompeii and Capri. (Successfully held in 2001, 2003 & 2005)

ISTANBUL / GALLIPOLI: Istanbul is an old old city, you can see the remains of many ancient civilizations and their culture in harmony with Turkish culture. The city is full of contrasts, and colourful views. We will also be hosting a side trip to Gallipoli.

LONDON: For a bird's-eye view of London, take a spin on the London Eye, the Ferris wheel overlooking the Thames. Don't miss landmarks like Big Ben, the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Globe Theatre. Spend a day at the Tate Modern or shopping along Portobello Road in Notting Hill.

FLORENCE/SIENA/ORVIETO: This city has more works of art & historic places than probably any other city in the world.  At the Uffizi gallery you’ll virtually see a masterpiece on every wall.  Its piazza’s are adorned with sculptures dating back hundreds of years and what better place to take in Tuscany than in its capital.  You’ll wonder at both the Florentine cuisine & its architecture. (Run successfully in 1999, 2002, 2003 2004, 2006, 2008 & 2009)

JERUSALEM: The conference venue is the King David Hotel, only minutes on foot from the old city where you can walk the Stations of the Cross in Via Dolorosa, pray at the Wailing Wall or dine Middle East style in the Arab quarter. (Successfully run in 1999 & 2000)
